What do your Speedtest results mean?
Ping (aka Latency)
Ping is measured in milliseconds and is the response time of your internet connection. The lower the Ping rate the faster the connection response is. This is vital to time-critical applications like Video Games. Ping is affected by your location, your type of internet connection and the destination you are connecting to.
Jitter
Jitter is measured in milliseconds and is the measurement of time in which data is received by your connection. Jitter mainly comes into effect when using VoIP, a lower Jitter means lower packet loss and better quality sound. Jitter is affected by your location and type of internet connection.
Download Speed
Download speed is measured in megabits per second (Mbps), this is the speed at which your connection will download/receive information from the internet or from another device. To view pictures and videos quickly without buffering then you will require a higher download speed. Download speed is affected by your location and type of internet connection.
Upload Speed
Upload speed is measured in megabits per second (Mbps), this is the speed at which your connection will upload/send information to the internet or another device. To send large files, pictures or videos quickly you will require a higher upload speed. Upload speed is affected by your location and type of internet connection
